… Calls for Enhanced Collaboration
Information management stakeholders have emphasised the need for strengthened collaborations and partnerships to efficiently and effectively disseminate information in Lagos State towards the attainment of the T.H.E.M.E.S Plus Agenda of the Lagos State Government.
The delegation from the Radio, Television and Theatre Union (RATTAWU Eko FM/Traffic Radio/LTV Chapter), Nypher-Tech Limited and NTA Educational Television stated this during their courtesy visits to the Ministry of Information and Strategy on Tuesday.
The groups also used the opportunity to congratulate the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Gbenga Omotoso, represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr Olumide Sogunle on his re-appointment, adding that the reappointment underscores his commitment to take public information management and dissemination to the next level in Lagos State.
Speaking further, Leader of the RATTAWU delegation, Comrade Oluwole Ajose enumerated some challenges facing the union and solicited the Ministry’s intervention to achieve optimal performance in the discharge of their duties.
Similarly, the Founder of Nypher-Tech Limited, Mr. Sherriff Adekoya sought the Ministry’s collaboration and support to foster more robust relationships with agencies of the State Government.
He said, “Our goal is to offer a seamless marriage between the Public and Private sector. Hence, we are open to collaborations with the Ministry. The T.H.E.M.E.S Plus Agenda is a DNA of Greatness in Lagos State so we intend to work with the Ministry in this area to in order to achieve positive outcomes”.
Also speaking, the NTA Educational Television led by its General Manager, Mr. Richard Yaboh said the NTA ETV has been in existence for 22 years creating educational programmes, adding the in-thing now is online television because over 80% of people read news stories online, adding that the station also intends to rejig some of its old programmes but requires the Ministry’s support to achieving the goal.
In his response, the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Olumide Sogunle urged the visiting delegations to come up with creative and innovative ways to promote Lagos State as a global brand.
While thanking them for their continuous support in promoting effective dissemination of information to Lagosians, Sogunle urged them to be competitive in terms of service delivery to the general public. He said the government looks forward to a long-lasting partnership between the Ministry and their respective organisations.
