Mrs. Omobolanle Ogunmola-PERMANENT SECRETARY

Mrs Ogunmola, Omobolanle Modinat, was born on 21st April, 1960 in Ibadan, Oyo State. She started her primary education at Omolewa Nursery and Primary School, Ibadan, Oyo State from 1967 – 1973. She later proceeded to St. Teresa’s College, Ibadan, Oyo State, for her secondary school education between 1973 and 1978. She was at the Olivet Baptist High School, Oyo for her Higher School Certificate (HSC) from 1978 – 1980.

Mrs Ogunmola’s love and dream in imparting knowledge to others was fulfilled in 1980 when she got admission into the prestigious University of Ibadan to study Adult Education where she bagged a B.ED Degree in Adult Education (English Language) and M.ED also in Adult Education (Industrial Relations).

Her National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) was at Kwara State College of Education, Ilorin, Kwara State from 1984 – 1985 where she taught English Language.

Mrs Ogunmola started her working career with the Oyo State Central Schools Board from where she was posted to Local Authority Teachers Training College (LATTC), Iyana Offa and also at the United Missionary College (UMC) both in Oyo State, Nigeria.

She later transferred her service to the then Post Primary Teaching Service Commission (PPTESCOM) Lagos State, in 1991. She taught briefly at Ajao Estate High School, Anthony Village, Lagos from 1991 to 1992 before her posting to the then Lagos State Post Primary Teaching Service Commission (PPTESCOM), Training and Staff Welfare Department.

Mrs Ogunmola due to her dedication and commitment to duties also served as the Secretary, Teachers Loans Board Committee until 1997 when she transferred her service again in her quest for advancement to the main stream of the Lagos State Civil Service. She served in various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), General Services Bureau, Establishments, Training and Job Creation, Lands Bureau and Ministry of Justice. She also served as the Secretary, Lagos State Electricity Board (LSEB).

Mrs Ogunmola served as Director, Finance and Administration in various Ministries and Offices such as the Office of Special Adviser, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Economic Planning and Budget and Civil Service Commission.

In view of her diligence to service and contributions to the upliftment of the Lagos State Public Service, she rose to the peak of her career when she was appointed as a Permanent Secretary in February, 2015 and has since then served in various MDAs such as Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Ministry of Establishment, Training and Pensions, Civil Service Pension Office and Local Government Service Commission, Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives. Until her recent re- deployment to the Ministry of Information & Strategy by the Governor Babajide Sanwoolu on the 19th August. 2019.

Mrs Ogunmola in the course of her career in the Lagos State Public Service was a Member of the Ad-Hoc Team on the Assessment and Renovation of Magistrate Courts across the State to Prototype and recommended the present Prototype Courts built across the State.

She represented the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs on the Board of Lagos State Advertising Agency (LASAA).

Mrs Ogunmola also pioneered the implementation of the new Human Resources Management (HRM) and Corporate Planning Reforms in the Lagos State Public Service while at the Civil Service Commission as the Director, Administration and Human Resources.

She participated in the Mandate Mapping/ Review of Assignment of Ministerial Responsibilities to streamline and clarify Ministerial Responsibilities, eliminate unnecessary costly duplication and overlaps in the Civil Service Commission.

Mrs Ogunmola was the pioneered Team Leader of the Service Charter Implementation at the Civil Service Commission.

Mrs Ogunmola, Omobolanle Modinat is a Member of the Institute of Directors (IOD) , Fellow of the Association of Corporate Governance Professionals in Nigeria (ACGPN) and also a Graduate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPMN). She loves reading, travelling and meeting people. She is married and blessed with children.
